Sonoran Turquoise Earrings in Sterling Silver
Sonoran Turquoise Earrings in Sterling Silver
How cool is this pair of turquoise with ironstone matrix? I love how metallic the ironstone looks in places and how it mixes with the deep teal of the turquoise. It's such an earthy look.
These are from the Sonoran area of Mexico, not too far from Arizona. I've set them in sterling silver for a fairly simple pair of earrings. They measure 1 3/8-inches, (35 mm), from the top of the handmade ear wires to the bottom of the stones. Not too big and not too small. An easy pair of earrings to wear.
***Turquoise was one of the first gems to be mined. It gets its blue color from a combination of copper and aluminum. Turquoise is an alternate birthstone for December. Associated with the throat chakra, turquoise has long been considered a protective stone by many different cultures.***
Made one pair at a time in my Sonoran Desert studio. xo
