Phosphosiderite and Sugilite Earrings in Sterling
Phosphosiderite and Sugilite Earrings in Sterling
How amazing are these stones?! I was so excited when I saw how well they worked with each other. The top stones are phosphosiderite and they are the same shade of purple as the spots in the very unique sugilite that dangles below. They are set in sterling silver, with sterling posts and large ear nuts to help them sit properly on your ears. They measure 1 5/8-inches, (41 mm), from the silver ball at the top of the earrings to the silver ball at the bottom. Definitely one of a kind earrings.
***Phosphosiderite is made up of a combination of iron and phosphorus, and was discovered in 1890 in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is a calming and soothing stone and believed to reduce anger and impart a sense of tranquility.***
***Sugilite is fairly rare and was first discovered in 1944. Gem quality material wasn't found until 1979 - not that long ago - and comes from the very deep manganese mines in South Africa. Sugilite is considered a protective as well as a purifying stone and is associated with the crown chakra. It is also considered the "stone of dreams".***
