Peruvian Blue Opal Pendant in Sterling and 18k Gold on Peridot Beads
Peruvian Blue Opal Pendant in Sterling and 18k Gold on Peridot Beads
I've had this Peruvian blue opal for quite a few years and decided it would look so pretty hanging from these sparkly peridot beads, so I decided to finally let it go! This gemmy opal measures 8 x 13 mm and is bezel set in sterling silver. There is an 18k gold accent at the bottom of the stone, and it all hangs from 16-inches of 3 mm faceted peridot beads. I've added a 2-inch sterling chain extender so it can be worn any where between 16-inches and 18-inches and closes with my favorite teardrop lobster clasp in sterling silver.
***Peruvian blue opal comes from the Andes mountains in Peru and unfortunately, the mine they came from has been closed for close to 16 years. There are not many left and when they're gone, they're gone. :O( Associated with the throat chakra, blue opal is considered a stone of courage and ingenuity.***
***Peridot is one of the few gemstones that occur in only one color. The intensity and tint of the green depends on the amount of iron contained in the crystal structure. The birthstone for August, peridot has been considered as a protector against negative emotions. It is also thought of as an energizing stone.***
