A 12 mm cab of deep blue lapis with tiny flecks of pyrite is surrounded by an 18k gold bezel. There are 18k gold balls on either side of the stone with the remainder of the ring in sterling silver. The rich blue looks great with the combination of gold and silver. A classic stone, size and design, this could be your everyday ring.

Lapis lazuli was used for many things by the ancient Egyptians, who believed it held great power. It was thought to provide protection to the wearer as well as to shield him or her from negative influences. It was also ground up and used as eye shadow. The best quality lapis, a deep blue without much white calcite, is found in Afghanistan, with other sources in Russia and Chile.
